GOTTLAND - KAREL GOTT MUSEUM
The reconstruction works started in spring 2006. Essential architectonical changes concern only technical background where it was necessary to modify the premises in order to enable the visitors to get a proper service. The aim was to carry out the reconstruction with feeling and with regard to the building´s authenticity. That´s why the charm that this villa surely has hasn´t been lost. The roof of the former garage – today´s ceiling of the hall of fame and souvenir shop – has been reconstructed by reason of technical standards and securing of statics. This concerned mainly the elevation of the ceiling by tens of centimeters which is, however, from the visitor´s point of view, merely a cosmetic adjustment of the existing premises.

VILLA IN THE OWNERSHIP OF THE GOTT FAMILY
The building stayed in original state until 1969 when it has been partly reconstructed by the Gott family. Further modernization and adjustments were commenced by Karel Gott in the eighties. In 1988 the villa has been sold to Narex company which had it in it´s ownership till 1996. In this year Karel Gott took the villa back into his possession and used it until 2005 when it was bought by Jan Moťovský which gave impulse to the building of present Gottland i.e. the Karel Gott Museum.
THE HISTORY OF THE JEVANY VILLA
Since its construction, the first republic villa has had several owners and has undergone several changes. The first reference to the plot in Jevany dates back to 1927, respectively 4th of July 1927. In that year the right of ownership has been recorded in the land register for Alois and Marie Köpell. Alois Köpell was a cable works factory owner in Prague. Immediately after buying the plot, the couple started to build this villa which has been finished after 1930. On the adjoining plots, the father of Alois Köpell built other two architectonically similiar villas for his other sons. Mr. and Mrs. Köpell used the house till 1947 when they sold the villa to an agricultural engineer Roček. The Roček family lived in Jevany till 1969. On 12th of September 1969 engineer Roček sold the villa to the Gott family.
CONCLUSION
In the end we would like to thank you for your patience because building of Gottland isn´t a matter of one year. But our aim is mainly your comfort, safety and preservation of the authenticity of the original character of Jevany villa.
